Compare the Western sciences with Ayurveda. The difference between them is obvious. Both differ in their perspective of diseases, approach to the treatment and even in ideology. While Ayurveda is the core-knowledge derived through thousands of years' experiments and experiences by ancient seers, the history of Western Sciences dates back to only a few hundred years. The approach to treatment too varies; while the Western Sciences treat the symptoms of the disease, Ayurveda provides a holistic treatment, keeping in mind the well-being of body and mind as a whole. Researches are being conducted in both these medical systems, which in turn help them keep pace with the changing world. Ayurveda researchers contribute to improve the traditional `Science of Life ' (that is the literal meaning of Ayurveda). They explore possibilities to use the modern equipments and facilities in a better way in Ayurvedic treatment. The researchers also are on a quest to find out the medicinal properties of new herbs. This leads to the preparation of new herbal medicines and contributes to the treatment of many diseases. Extensive study in this field will surely help in improving the quality of Ayurvedic cancer treatment, spondylitis ayurvedic treatment, Ayurvedic Parkinson's treatment etc and it also enhances the curative effect of all the herbal medicines.
